Data Inventory on Releases from Diffuse Sources to WATER
Source Sectors
Thus only results for the sectors identified and quantified in the
"Source apportionment of nitrogen and phosphorus inputs into the aquatic
environment" published recently by the European Environment Agency
(EEA 7/2005) are available on this page.
Data are compiled for nitrogen and phosphorus for the following source
sectors:
For selection of source sectors data bases and publication have been screened.
However the number of identified sectors is very limited as most compilations
are restricted to agriculture. Some other sectors are identified in single
cases, however due to limited data and comparability do not allow presentation
at the European scale.
In addition the pathways for quantification of diffuse releases developed
in the MONERIS model and tested for a number of European river basins are
presented exemplarily with results from the Danube catchment (Harmonised
Inventory of Point and Diffuse Emissions of Nitrogen and Phosphorus for
a Transboundary River Basin).
